Welcome to Bellway and NWM Properties’ online consultation portal for their emerging proposal for up to 116 new homes on Land South of Chadwell St Mary, off Chadwell Hill.

The proposal comes forward in response to Thurrock’s need for new homes and after part of the site was identified as a potential ‘new neighbourhood’ in the Thurrock Local Plan: Initial Proposals Document (Regulation 18).

Bellway and NWM Properties are currently in the design stages of preparing a full planning application and would like to receive comments from the local community to help inform the final proposal before it is submitted to Thurrock Council in the coming months.

Overview

The emerging proposal seeks to deliver:

  • A mixture of up to 116 high quality new homes, including starter homes and affordable housing.

  • Materials chosen that will reflect the character of Chadwell St Mary and stand the test of time.

  • Proportionate financial contributions to support the expansion of local services. This will be agreed in consultation with local authorities and the NHS.

  • New planting and wildlife features to deliver a Biodiversity Net Gain in line with national planning policy.

  • Highways upgrades where necessary.

  • New drainage measures to control surface water run-off and prevent flooding.

  • Improved accessibility to existing Public Rights of Way.
